After 3 months of searching, we finally found a trailer for sale online. This trailer was purposefully built for a Tiny House previously. It was sold as a package to someone who removed the house off it to make it stationary on their land. Making the trailer redundant.

I must say, we got it at a bargain price. After speaking to a local trailer builder, even a bare frame trailer this size to have made was probably going to cost us $5,000NZD. We paid less then half that for our trailer.

To make it road legal, we needed to install some mudguards and wheel arches on the wheels, and install some tail lights. Which was an easy enough job. We also installed 4x leveling jacks. 1 in each corner.

We always wanted a big enough house to live in. So finding a large trailer was a challenge. The trailer we picked up was nearly perfect. The deck size is: 2.2 meters wide (7.2ft), 6 meters long (19.6ft). However the drawbar at the front of the trailer is quite long, probably another 2.5 meters (8.2ft). Which makes this trailer suitable.

We are going to extend the house subframe out to 2.44 meters (8ft), and extend the length by another meter (3.3ft) onto the drawbar. I just hope there is still space where I can put a water tank on the drawbar.
