And it continues.
I have very quickly come to the conclusion that my partner and I could not have built this frame alone. At one point we needed up to 5 people to help lift heavy items. The small and large jobs never stop. Most things require a minimum of two people. Thankfully I have my cousins who not only have allowed me to build my Tiny House in their driveway, but have relentlessly helped me every day to get to where we are now.
In just over a week, the Tiny House has turned from a trailer base, to a completed frame and nearly watertight.
The big jobs that have been achieved the past few days include cutting out all the window and door holes in the metal sheeting (this took far too many jigsaw blades). Installing the windows and doors, as well as building the second floor.
It looks so much more complete now that the windows and door frames have been installed. I think another few days of cladding, some dressing pieces on the edges of the window frames, and some flashings and I can call the outside complete. I still need to install door locks to make it secure though. I was going to build the doors in frames on the ground including all the electric locks, but very quickly came to the realization that trying to align the doors on the ground when the frames are not positioned correctly, as well as lifting the 2.4m (~7.9ft) tall doors in frames would just be an impossible task.
One of the best investments so far was the flashing all-weather tape. This stuff is amazingly sticky. It not only weatherproofs window edges and door frames, it also hides a multitude of sins and screwups.
Anyway. Ill leave you with some photos.
