The floor is in!

The floor is in!

Our floor is in. Surprisingly it wasn’t that difficult. The flooring we used was a simple waterproof click lock flooring. It is a plastic floor with a wood veneer top. Some places also call it a floating floor.

I can still walk around and feel it clicking in in places if I put a lot of pressure in one spot, but in general its installed and looks great. I even had time to cut, measure and install the skirting around walls on the floor.

It’s really coming together well. The only issue we had this week was that our water pump died. Its only been running for 3 weeks and the pressure switch died…. Unfortunately I did not keep the receipt, I know I could get the pressure switch as a separate part, but I ended up just ordering a new (and different) pump. Living another week without running water was starting to piss me off. Thankfully the new pump arrived today and only took about 10 minutes to install.

The gas alarm has also arrived and been installed. I’ve been waiting on this gas alarm for 2 weeks. I didn’t want to have the gas running until it was here, as if it’s going to leak, it will be on day one. The gas alarm needed to be installed near the floor as butane, and LPG (propane) are both heavier than air. With the alarm and running water, there is nothing stopping me from testing the gas system tomorrow. So who knows, I may even have hot water by tomorrow.

The shower is all waterproofed. Unfortunately, the shower door I had simply didn’t fit now that everything has been built. So it seems we will have to use a shower curtain. Which wont look as nice. Maybe I can find a blind, or perhaps get a glass door made.

We also have lights! Ow it’s so nice to actually have lighting. Working lighting.

What’s left to complete (Interior):

Gas Installation.
Bathroom Door.
Bathroom Benchtop and Sink.

We are at the point where we are hunting for land. hopefully that goes well.
